Our Pro, Dave Kemshead has been busy getting the shops and course ready for the start of the season and excited that we’ve introduced the exculsive offer for Resort Guests - FREE GOLF with every overnight stay!

What a great kick off day as well - the sun is shining, there’s a gentle breeze and indeed, it is still a tad cool at 5 degrees for the first Tee-Off at 8am, but it’s great to be on the greens!

Posted by White Point Vacation Club Team on March 20th, 2009

As many guests know when you come to White Point, the bunnies are an important aspect of every visit. Infact we  are sure that we have the best fed I Spy a Bunnyand most named bunnies in Canada! And now, they’ve gained another level of celebrity…they are featured in the newest children’s book from Nimbus Publishing “I Spy a Bunny” written by Judy Dudar and illustrated by Richard Rudnicki. Judy actually wrote the story on a visit to White Point in the Fall a couple of years ago and we are delighted that the book has become a reality.

It is only fitting that the official launching of a book set at White Point and featuring our bunnies be launched at White Point and on Easter Weekend!
Please join us for the launch on Saturday April 11th at 3pm at White Point Beach Resort. Both the author and illustrator will be with us of course, Judy will read her book and they’ll be available for a signing afterward.

Maybe “hop on over” for the weekend - there’s the Great Easter Egg Hunt, Sport Skipping, Nordic Walking, a Karaoke Dance Party, our 3rd Annual Easter Family Photo and so much more!

Date Set for Chef’s Table Dinner

Posted by White Point Vacation Club Team on March 20th, 2009

Chef Alan CrosbyLast year we introduced a new experience at White Point that created a stage for Executive Chef Alan Crosby and Sommelier Dan Tanner to perform at their best for our guests. Chef’s Table Dinners enable those with a culinary “joie de vivre” to get up close and personal with an amazing meal prepared, presented and explored with the creators of the experience.
Limited to only 14 people, these Dinners invite you on a journey through 4 - 5 courses and 3 - 4 paired wines. Each introduced by Chef Alan which he thoroughly enjoys doing - it is only at the Dinner Table that night that you actually come to know what your menu shall consist of. Indeed, Chef does not discolse to anyone what he’ll be serving until Dinner begins. He actually doesn’t even know what it will be until that day when he receives his deliveries and gains inspiration from the freshest of ingredients.

Are you ready for a culinary journey?
Join us on Friday March 27th at 7pm in the Seawatch Dining Room! Come alone, as a couple or a group of friends and be prepared to be delighted.

Make sure there’s a seat at the table for yourself, make your reservations at (902) 354-2711, Ext. 383, and of course, we’ll through in a complimentary orchestra of pounding ocean surf!

Dinner: $65 per person plus tax and gratuities.

“The evening was perfect!”!
“Fundraising has never tasted so good!”
These sentiments and more like them were wafting from the Conference Centre on Saturday Feb. 21st as White Point hosted its second “On the Rocks” fundraising event. Representatives from the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore, the beneficiary this year, expressed their gratitude to all in attendance when presented with a cheque in the amount of $2850! These funds were the proceeds from the event ticket sales.

Guests of this amazing culinary experience enjoyed an evening of sampling more than 60 varieties of wines, beer and spirits from companies here in Nova Scotia and well beyond. Of course, Chef Alan’s presentation of constantly changing variety of hors d’oeurves were a delight for all.

Off the Vine & On The Rocks Ready to Raise Funds for Hospital

Posted by White Point Vacation Club Team on February 19th, 2009

Now in it’s second year, White Point’s “On the Rocks” is poised to raise about $2500 in support of the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore. The Event is unique in Nova Scotia. It combines the unique oceanfront setting of White Point Beach as the backdrop to an amazing evening of sampling and learning about more than 50 varieties of wines, beer and spirits from Nova Scotia and beyond. With 16 partnering sponsors on hand for the evening serving their products, guests of this “cocktail” party will gain a greater appreciation of the products being showcased from the companies themselves. Add to this the magic of White Point Beach Resort’s Executive Chef Alan Crosby hors d’oeurves and you have an amazing experience “On the Rocks”.

While the evening promises to be incredible on it’s own, it gets even better. 50% of the ticket proceeds are donated to a new charity each year. This year, we expect more than $2500 to be donated to the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore. Indeed Fundraising has never tasted better!

Tickets and overnight packages are available by calling White Point Beach Resort at 1.800.565.5068 or visiting www.whitepoint.com.

Vacation Club Members were treated to a terrific Tutorial on Dec. 20th….Travel Planning was the topic and not only did they garner new ideas, they had some to share!

In the morning, experienced and passionate traveller, Monica MacNeil (Manager of White Point Vacations) shared so many tips, suggestions and ideas that we had to put her presentation in the members area of the Vacation Club Website so everyone could take advantage of it - see it now. At the end of her presentation, Monica opened the floor to Members in search of additional “Travel Tips” which resulted in a bundle of suggestions. These have been captured in a separate Blog Posting here online.

After a fabulous lunch, everyone gathered back in the Atlantic Conference Centre for an afternoon “armchair travel” experience with Doug Fawthrop (Director or White Point Vacation Club) and Cyndi Joudrey (RCI Reservations) as co-pilots. “Virtually” attendees traveled to more than 30 RCI Resorts Internationally learning about the features of each of the Resorts and their destinations.

As always, our complimentary Tutorials include Prize Giveaways! This time round we congratulate Rick Moore who won a sweatshirt while Laurena Harding took home a $400.00 Gift Certificate!

Vacation Club Members Offer “TRAVEL TIPS”

Posted by White Point Vacation Club Team on December 31st, 2008

Following a “Travel Planning” Presentation with Monica MacNeil at the Dec. 20th complimentary White Point Vacation Club Tutorial, Owners were invited to share some of their personal “Tips”. The following were shared:

Luggage Tips:
1) Spread belongings among all travelers. If one bag goes missing you still have an outfit packed in another bag.
2) Always put your bathing suit in a carry on when you go south. If your bag goes missing you will still be able to swim and be poolside.
3) Place luggage tags inside and out.

Money Tips:
1) Keep a cheap money belt with copies of your passport and a $100.00, if your wallet or bags are lost or stolen, you have enough money and information to get everything replaced.
2) Be sure to get some local currency (change) for using local telephones.
3) Make copies of credit card numbers and issuers phone numbers as a list that you can access while on vacation.
4) Notify credit card issuers you are out of the country.
5) Only buy duty free on a direct flight, if you are on a connection flight and run out of time, you will have to leave it behind.
6) Split smaller denominations in pockets and purses for ease of use and not pulling out your wallet every time you purchase something.

Medication Tips:
1) Take a copy of your prescriptions.
2) Ask your pharmacy for a medication blister pack.

Travel Documents Tips:
1) Grandparents or single parents need notarized letters of consent when travelling with children.
2) Be sure to have Travel Insurance.
3) Take paper copies of your itinerary, with phone numbers and addresses.
4) Know the address of the resort you are staying at while on vacation.

Cell Phone Tips:
1) Buy a new cell phone locally.

Customs & Security Tips:
1) Be polite to all security agents.
